Do you really want to be working this hard for the rest of your life? Has your business grown beyond your current capacity? If so, it may be time to inject some leverage by franchising it. You might love your company and not want to sell, but franchising could maximize your income while you stay involved with your company and its future.
In this episode, CEO and strategic event planner Tami Forero outlines how she assembled a great team of business minds to fill the gaps, how she got inspired by policies and procedures (yes, it’s possible!), and the key elements that made her business ripe for franchising—that could apply to your business, too!
Gain Leverage by Franchising Your Business…
- Shift your thinking. Even if your industry doesn’t commonly have franchises, so what? You can be the first. Your business doesn’t have to follow the beaten path. Be open to possibilities that will give you a better work/life balance.
- Look for the problems that need solving over and over. Tami found them when she started teaching in the event industry, and the same issues kept cropping up. What “special sauce,” series of steps, or formula do you use to solve your clients’ problems?
- Structure gives you freedom. Without structure, you can’t harness (or replicate) your business growth. When you have good systems and processes in place, even the mundane and boring become exciting when you see how they contribute to your business success.
- Play to each team members’ strengths. Don’t just delegate to any warm body. If you have a team member who is creative, give them some problems to solve. You might be surprised at the positive impact this has on your company and on that individual.
