How can you train your clients to pay ON TIME?

By Nina Kaufman, Esq.

Having cash in hand becomes so much more important when times are challenging.

And while I’ve shared a few tips on getting paid in full, solo and small firm owners will also be eager to get paid on time … and not six months from now.

In this short video, I discuss three tactics I’ve shared with my solo and small firm consulting clients, who have made them part of their regular business systems:

Listen in to learn more about how to …

  1. Send advance reminders
  2. Invoice consistently
  3. Offer carrot or stick

We might not like to admit it, but training clients is kind of like training children. Or dogs. You want to reinforce good behavior and penalize bad behavior.

But a key to doing that is consistency.

That can be hard to see (and do) from the inside.

Especially when you run a knowledge-based business – like marketing, consulting, creative, or professional services.

A business where so much of what you do and how you do it is all in your head…

… which means there’s a lot going on inside that noggin, and it can be tough to sort through.

As I often say, you can’t read the label when you’re inside the jar.

So if you know of knowledge-based business owners who want outside perspective on how to get paid on time, invite them to set up a call with us at KaufmanBusinessLaw.com.
